Dr. Vivian Hernandez-Trujillo

Dr. Vivian Hernandez-Trujillo is a specialist in Allergy and Immunology. She has board certifications in both Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. She has over 16 years of experience caring for the most delicate patients.

Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo received her medical degree from Albany Medical College, New York and completed a three-year pediatric residency program at Miami Children’s Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center.

Vivian Hernandez-Trujillo, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, in Miami, Florida. She serves as the Medical Director for the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Nicklaus Children's Hospital since 2008, along with starting and serving as the Program Director of the Allergy/Immunology Fellowship training program.

Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She is also a member of the Clinical Immunology Society.

Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo is interested in education regarding pediatric allergic disease, with particular interests in the topics of food allergy, anaphylaxis and primary immunodeficiency disorders. She lectures nationally and internationally on the topics of Pediatric Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis, Atopic Dermatitis, Asthma and Immunodeficiency. Dr Hernandez-Trujillo serves on numerous committees for national organizations and currently chairs the XLA Workgroup for USIDNET, a registry created by a national registry of patients with primary immunodeficiency disorders, as well as serving as part of the Immune Deficiency Foundation Medical Advisory Board.

Dr Hernandez-Trujillo has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on a number of clinical studies on the topics of anaphylaxis, food allergy and immunodeficiency, and has presented abstracts, posters, and lectures at meetings and conferences worldwide. She has published multiple articles in respected medical journals, written textbook chapters on the topics of Allergic Diseases, Anaphylaxis, Drug Allergy, co-edited the first Board Review Textbook on Allergy/Immunology, and is author of the reknowned UpToDate topic of Agammaglobulinemia.


Dr. Camile Ortega

Dr. Camile Ortega earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital in 2017 and went on to complete her fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Allergy and Immunology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Florida.

She is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. During her fellowship, she presented abstracts at several national conferences on the topics of food allergy and immunodeficiency. Her fellowship research project focused on Quality of Life in patients with food allergy.

Dr. Ortega has published reviews on Allergy/Immunology articles in the journal, Pediatrics, and is co-author of a textbook chapter on Agammaglobulinemia.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
